Makawao
Makawao is located north of Kula in the Up Country. This is a quiet little artist colony. There are a lot of little art shops and diners along the main drag. You can spend hours perusing the galleries and shops along Baldwin Ave. Stop for some ice cream or lunch and enjoy this wonderful picturesque town.
A local resident once said "I love Makawao, look down at the ocean. If there are waves it is a good day to surf, if not it is a good day to fish, and when I am done I can come home and leave the crowd behind."
